Lens Information

Single Vision
The simplest form of spectacle or contact lens is the single-vision lens, made to a single prescription to correct a particular eyesight problem, for either distance, reading, or computer.
Bifocals
Bifocal lenses contain two optical corrections with a distinct dividing line between the two parts. The most common use of bifocals is for people who need glasses for distance and need a different prescription for close work. The upper part of the lens corrects distance vision and the lower half is for near vision.
Varifocals
Optimum vision - at all distances
No line across your glasses
Look and feel more natural than with bifocals
If you need glasses for both near and far vision, here is the answer!
Varifocal lenses give you sharp vision at all distances, so you see everything clearly and without the unflattering line of a bifocal lens. Varifocal lenses are very different from bifocal lenses because they don't suffer from a blurred area between near and distant vision. They are also a lot more convenient than switching between two pairs of glasses
Thin Lenses
Up to 50% thinner and up to 40% lighter than standard plastic
Aspheric lens design gives better peripheral vision and less distortion
Anti-reflection coatings reduce glare and magnification rings
Many lenses today have sophisticated, computer-designed surfaces to make them thinner, lighter and flatter than ever before. And now, high-index plastics mean that lenses can be even thinner still and if you have even a moderate prescription, you'll really notice the difference.
High-index lenses can be up to 50% thinner and 40% lighter than a normal plastic lens and just a fraction of the weight of a glass lens.
Aspheric lens designs mean less magnification or minification so better peripheral vision and less distortion. Your eyes look more natural and all our high-index lenses are available with an anti-reflective coating that virtually eliminates reflections from street lighting, headlights, TV and computer screens. Because they are so light, your glasses won't slide down your nose so much, and they will feel more comfortable.
Sunglasses
Whatever your prescription, it is important to protect the eyes against excessive ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Protection is needed to avoid reflected light from sand and snow or if you spend long periods out of doors, particularly in the summer.
Prescription sunglasses can be made with single-vision, bifocal or varifocal designs to offer the same standard of protection as non-prescription sunglasses.
Transitions
Light-reactive lenses quickly darken in the sun and lighten again almost as quickly when you return indoors.
Transitions Lenses sunsensor lenses contain special photochromic dyes that cause the lens to darken when exposed to ultra-violet rays from sunlight. When the ultra-violet light diminishes, the lens becomes clear again. This photochromic effect comforts the eye and makes Transitions Lenses the right lenses in any light.
Quick light adaptation for indoors and out.
Absorbs 100% of harmful UV rays to protect your eyes
Lightweight plastic for increased comfort
Optional anti-reflective coating for sharper, clearer vision
Hard coated for better scratch resistance
Coated Lenses
Less glare for night driving and computer work. Virtually no distracting reflections Your vision has better contrast and definition Tougher lenses result in less scratching Modern technology allows special coatings to be bonded to your prescription lens, giving you several benefits. Anti-reflective coatings allow virtually 100% of light to pass through the lens (while a conventional lenses reflects 8% of the light reaching it). This improves contrast and definition to give you sharper, clearer vision.
These lenses virtually eliminate reflections on your lenses from indoor lighting, street lights, headlights, TV and computer screens so you see the world as it really is, and people can see you better! Importantly, by cutting out a lot of glare, they make night driving and working at computers a lot more comfortable.
